La scuola di danza regala un futuro al Kenya
Ogni mecoledì una classe della Spurgeons Academy, una scuola che sorge nello slum di Kibera a Nairobi, si trasforma in una scuola di danza. Da circa sette anni il ballerino professionista Mike Wamaya insegna a decine di bambini che vivono nelle baracche della città ad amare la sua disciplina, donandogli la speranza di un futuro differente. Alcuni degli alunni di Kibera si sono guadagnati delle borse di studio grazie alla danza, altri sono riusciti ad entrare al Dance Centre Kenya e a esibirsi al Kenya National Theatre nello "Schiaccianoci"

1. Every Wednesday the students take the chairs and benches out of a classroom and sweep the floor.
2. The school uniforms are switched to bright-coloured clothes.
3. When teacher enters the classroom, the students get into position and place one hand on the concrete wall as though it were a ballet bar.
4. Classical music plays out of a small portable speaker, and the class begins.
5. The Ballet class is part of Annos Africa and One Fine Days charity activities in slum areas around Kenya.
6. Apart from ballet, the children can choose dance, music, creative writing and film.7. In Nairobi they work together with two schools in Kibera and one school in Mathare, another slum closer to the city centre.
8. Dance Center Kenya ballet dance instructor, Copper Rust says that even though the children from Kibera train under harsh conditions, they are just as good as those who train in her studio.
